Who We Are
At Ansar Youth Project (AYP), we believe every young person deserves a safe, welcoming space to learn, grow, and be heard – regardless of their background, ability, or circumstance.
Founded in 2006 by a group of young adults in Brent, AYP was built on the belief that every young person should have access to affordable, inclusive, and positive activities – especially those who often fall through the gaps. Our motto, “Where No One Gets Left Behind,” reflects our deep commitment to inclusion and community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to break down all barriers to participation, ensuring that every young person aged 8–17 can access opportunities to thrive. Through creative and inclusive programmes, we empower young people to discover their strengths, build life skills, and become leaders in their communities.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to holistic development – supporting not just academic or physical growth, but emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. We also care deeply for the people who make our work possible – our staff and volunteers – offering them training, mentoring, and the same opportunities for growth and wellbeing as the young people we serve.
Whether through sports, arts, mentoring, or volunteering, AYP provides the support, guidance, and inspiration every young person – and every team member – needs to reach their potential.
Our Values:
– Empowerment: Helping young people, staff, and volunteers take charge of their futures and believe in their potential.
– Inclusion: Ensuring everyone – regardless of ability, background, gender, faith, or income – feels welcome, valued, and supported.
– Respect: Encouraging understanding, empathy, and kindness across all communities.
– Community: Strengthening local connections through collaboration, volunteering, and shared experiences.
– Accessibility: Actively identifying and removing barriers – physical, social, or economic – to full participation.
– Growth: Continuously learning, improving, and adapting to meet evolving needs.
Our Vision
A community where every young person – and everyone who supports them – feels seen, supported, and inspired to succeed. A place where opportunity is open to all, participation has no barriers, and each individual grows with confidence, compassion, and purpose.
